The series on disparity reports for selected European Countries by the professorship continues with a study on living conditions for Italy, available here.
Spatial and structural inequalities have been observed in Italy for a long time, the North is economically far ahead compared to the South. The economic pillars of tourism and agriculture in the South are under increasing pressure from new threats like climate change. In other parts of the country global crises overshadow future perspectives. The study presents a spatial analysis of recent developments and - based on the results - discusses future options and policy recommendations in cooperation with national experts.
Additional publications in this series are currently prepared for the countries of Sweden and Estonia.
