A new study for the German state of Hesse describes and evaluates current challenges for social and structural policy for equal living conditions. The study presents an assessment based on geostatistical methods and indicators that inform on the preparedness for different scenarios in the future: Information that combines framing conditions for spatial development in an overall assessment and mappings of detailed information on living conditions.

The study "Unequal Hesse: Pathways to equal living conditions" with an interactive online map gives insights into an overall assessment of living conditions in the context of the spatial structure of Hesse. The report describes and interprets dimensions of inequality and representative indicators in detail. It also reflects on approaches for social and structural policy.
